Ollinia - We Mind Your Business

Humaneity Crowd Sourcing is aiming to raise USD $3'000 to help Ollinia to get registered and fiscally represented in Mexico.  

Ollinia is a Social Enterprise committed to helping female Mexican migrant workers in the United States to set up and run their own businessesWith its learning management system & structured educational program.

According to the United Nations, more than 230 million people were living outside of their countries of birth in 2013, and over 700 million migrate within their countries. Most of them leave their homes searching for a better life for themselves and their families. Once abroad, they earning capability increases which leads to a desire to invest in their own business to ensures the long-term stability of their new life.

Unfortunately, there is often a lack of access to hands-on entrepreneurial training and resources that are essential for successfully building their own business. Such training and resources could allow them to break the cycle of poverty that traps them, as well as helping them build sustainable businesses with enough profitability to improve their lives.

Ollinia connects mentors with low-income migrants to supporting them to start their own businesses.

The program offers:
· _Introduction to a network of peers
· _One-to-one coaching sessions
· _Access to learning material, videos and other practical tools
· _Opportunities for seed funding

As participants progress into the program, they acquire the confidence to become leaders, a “can do” mentality and the determination to turn their dreams into reality.

Background: Single mother of 2, survived a near to death operation, no retirement plan. She is passionate and willing to work very hard to make her dream a reality

Current job: Nanny, elderly care

Dream: Starting a business selling corn bread


“Before joining the Ollinia program, I didn’t know what was a business plan, cash flow, breakeven, hangouts or Google chrome. I didn’t know the importance of having strong business foundations, how to develop it and how to execute it. I didn’t know the importance of risks and the advantages of having a business. It was as if I was learning a new language. As I move forward into the program, I feel more confident to do it and to do it right.
